Celebrating Student Birthdays!

128 total views

Hi teaching friends!  Since today was my beautiful daughter’s birthday, and my….I can do this…really I can….39+++ birthday is next week on the 17th of September (told you I could and that barely hurt – lol), it got me to thinking about what I normally do in my classroom for student birthdays.

Traditionally, I have always done a birthday certificate, pencil, and the cha-cha-cha filled birthday song.  I know birthday celebrations and treats are becoming more and more obsolete as we don’t have time or are banned from celebrating by school district administration.  That, in itself, is sad to me, but I can tell you that even my high school daughter was excited today because her Spanish teacher gave her a sticker and had the class sing Happy Birthday (in Spanish, of course) to her.

The smallest things really can mean a lot – even to a teenage girl in high school!

As I am working on my upcoming launch of the Space Theme Classroom Essentials Set (which will be found soon in the Space Theme Resources Category if you are looking for it), I noticed that I had a fun customizable birthdays poster to share with everyone and it seemed like a good time to do so!  If you click on the image below, you can grab this freebie and easily be able to remember when your student birthdays are too.
