Join TeachThought University’s Digital Library Today
TeachThought University is an idea I’ve been working on for several years now and is now available to beta test through our digital library.
What I have to show for it at this point could be done in just a few weeks. It’s taken me dozens and dozens of attempts to find out what I didn’t want to eventually settle on what I do and so at this point, it’s simply an improved version of teachthought.com. But soon, I hope to be able to offer so much more to help make great teaching more sustainable and enjoyable for you.
TeachThought University is a research-based and innovation-driven learning platform for teachers. I will outline all of the bits and pieces of it as we get closer to their availability. But as of today, you can now join our digital library–a growing collection of the TeachThought content that you’ve found most useful and compelling. I say ‘growing’ because we’re constantly adding new content both in the form of updating our existing posts as well as publishing new ideas, strategies, frameworks, inspiration, and thought leadership.
What are the benefits? There are several–namely a faster website without zero ads, the ability to save articles to a personal library, listen to audio versions of some of the content (that’s a work in progress), and soon, take notes and save them as well. The content there will be better organized, easier to find, less cluttered, more mobile-friendly, and only feature hand-picked content.
In that way, not every single post from TeachThought.com will be available there but updating our content should include some separating the wheat from the chaff. (However, we still have hundreds more to add–this is a lot more work than I ever imagined it would be.)
Eventually, the TeachThought University will receive exclusive content not published here, as well as other possible features including personalized content recommendations, the ability to request specific content, social learning, suggested reading playlists, content-based notifications, personalized newsletters, the ability to ask questions, download micropodcasts, and more.
And that’s just the library.
Further, there will be an emphasis on specific data and education research, which is why we have partnered with leading education journals to bring you curated journal articles, research studies, and more.
If you’d like to support this kind of effort, join today. For now, it’s $5 per month or $50 a year, both 50% reductions on their regular price as I continue to beta test new features and ideas (that sometimes don’t work as they should). Anyone who joins at that pricing level will be ‘grandfathered in’ under that price once the standard pricing takes effect in November.
If you love progressive teaching and learning and could use a little help every now and then, join me. Give me feedback on how we can improve and what you would like to see, or just quietly browse the site ad-free and watch grow with us over the coming weeks, months, and years to develop new strategies, resources, and approaches to make teaching fun again.
