Thankful Thanksgiving Flap Book
Did you know that giving thanks can make you happier? Gratitude reduces stress, increases resilience, and generally just contributes to a better overall feeling of well-being. It even strengthens relationships. I could use all those things in my life as this year comes to a close, couldn’t you? And I think our kiddos could, too.
What a perfect time to introduce this Thankful Craftivity Flapbook, especially with (my personal favorite) holiday of Thanksgiving coming up! It is a great writing and drawing craft to use during the month of November and helps instill a thankful spirit during the season.

How to Use the Thankful Flapbook in the Classroom
I’ve found that the best way to incorporate this in the classroom is by picking a week in November and having students write and draw one section each day. Since there are four sections – Things, Places, People, and Events – this fits perfectly from Monday through Thursday. On Friday, students combine those sections into a full paragraph that summarizes why they are thankful.
What is included in the Thankful Flapbook
The Thankful Craftivity Flapbook includes several versions of the pages for drawing and writing, with and without color and graphics. Choose the pages you want to use with your students and tailor the schedule to your classroom dynamics and your students’ skills.

Photos of the Pages in the Thankful Flapbook
Here are examples of some of pages in the Thankful Flapbook. Students can write and draw about the things they are thankful for, the places, the people, and the events. On the last page, students can draw and write a summary from all of the other pages or included something new!

Not only does this craftivity encourage your students to write, but it also builds their character, helps them practice summarizing skills, and integrates art. And…, it makes a great keepsake! You can put it in students’ yearly binders, or they can take it home right away, where they can spread more holiday cheer. Because thankfulness… is contagious!
How to Purchase the Thankful Flapbook
