This not only saves me time when planning but also exposes my preschoolers and kindergarteners to a variety of different skills at once, allowing us to revisit concepts regularly. We used this transportation emergent reader to go with our transportation theme activities and also used the repetitive and simple text as a way for my students to get used to concepts of print and beginning sight words.

Transportation Emergent Reader

This transportation emergent reader was created with quick prep formatting, making it easy to cut and staple without the need for extra sorting or folding afterward. This transportation emergent reader includes six different modes of transportation. The last page even includes a space for your children to dream up and illustrate their own ending.

Your kids can color each page and learn more about different modes of transportation. This can be done as a morning arrival activity, literacy centers, or you can have kids color as they listen to a favorite picture book about transportation.

Once finished kids can keep their books in a book box or bag to read again and again as they practice reading during independent reading time or read with a book buddy.
