Rhyming Dominoes

265 total views

Phonological awareness sets a strong foundation for phonics skills like blending, segmenting, and decoding. However, this phonological awareness begins developing before your kids even start school and is something they will use in later elementary grades and beyond.

This set of rhyming dominoes is designed for preschoolers and kindergarteners working on phonological awareness. As such, there are no written letters/words (which are related phonics). In this activity, we want children to focus on the auditory aspects of the rhyming words.

If your students have a strong foundation in phonological awareness and are ready to begin more phonics-based instruction, we recommend using the phonics dominoes version.
