MTN MiFi vs Router (HyNetFlex)- Which Is Better?

MTN Router (HyNetFlex) is the big networking device by MTN. MTN MiFi on the other hand is the smaller network device. These devices are good to connect your Phone, TV, Laptops, etc using WiFi.

MTN HyNetFlex is bigger and faster than the MiFi and allows up to 64 devices to connect to WiFi at once. However, the HyNetFlex battery life is terrible.

Nevertheless, the MTN MiFi is pretty fast, allows up to 32 simultaneous connections, very portable and with a far better battery life than the MTN router.

1. WiFi is a wireless technology that allows devices to connect to each other via the internet.
2. Full form of WIFI is Wireless Fidelity.
3. A MiFi is a portable wireless device that creates a mini broadband hotspot.
4. MiFi stands for Mobile Wireless Fidelity.
5. A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks.

From my experience, MTN router lasts about an hour under heavy usage while the MiFi can last more than 4 hours. Charging an MTN router with a USB Cable and power bank can be demanding.

Although the MTN router is Faster than the MiFi on paper, yet you will enjoy the MiFi more in real-life usage. Sometimes, you won’t even notice any difference in speed between the MiFi and Hynetflex.

The MiFi uses the normal mobile MTN subscription while the HyNetFlex requires special subscription plans.

Should I buy MTN MiFi Instead of a router? Yes and No. HyNetFlex is recommended for brands or companys that require many connections and very wide range. For individuals, the MTN Mini MTN MiFi is far more than enough to connect all your devices for downloads and streaming.

MTN router is a good choice if you have access to constant electricity supply and cash at hand for the expensive subscription. Otherwise, the MiFi is good to go.
